I wonder which graphic is better from these two:
1. Gtx 980ti sea hawk - hybrid
2. Asus strix gtx980ti oc - non hybrid

Of course apart from that sea hawk got that liquid cooling so lower temperatures and better overclocking... apart from that. Which card of these two is better ?

Solution

That's not quite right. The cuda cores etc don't differ, only the clocks and cooling solution do.

If you're not good at overclocking the Seahawk will perform better...only on paper. If you sat infront of a screen and were allowed to play a game for an hour on both cards your would notice no difference

And i mean ZERO difference.

Save yourself some money and just get the quiet, reliable Asus and focus on gaming. The Seahawk is...

I own the strix, non OC version which is a lot cheaper in my market and can be overclocked to the same level as the OC can without great difficulty.

Personally I would say it is far and away the greatest card I have owned and it receives very positive reviews in GTX980Ti roundups.

As you pointed out, the sea hawk has a closed loop cooling system which aids overclocking, however what you get out of it on top of an air cooled model simply isn't worth the price premium at the moment.

2 possible paths:

1. Wait for March/April to see what Pascal brings and how it affects 980Ti prices. It could very well drive them down.
or
2. decide how good/serious your are with overclocking and if that premium is really worth the extra few numbers in benchmarks/2-5 FPS in games...It's VERY unlikely that this is the case.

My verdict: Buy the Strix or wait for the Seahawk to come down in price end of Q1/beginning Q2

What I was waiting to read about is which card performs better. I would love to get the asus oc version as I got no experience in overclocking, but I just by comparing numbers noticed that sea hawk got 28xx cuda cores and asusu got only about 2048 I think. How this affects the cards performance ?

Personally I looked at all 980ti's and realised I can get as much performance as ANY other card by getting a top grade cooling solution and doing the OC myself. So I compared them all recently myself and my verdit is the Seahawk isn't in any way tempting. If i had to pick a hybrid solution I would take EVGA's Hybrid over it.
