built a computer a year ago. 6 months after I built it. It started randomly locking up. The screen would just freeze and it would hum from the speakers. When I tried to restart it, it would not go past the "Republic of Gamers" screen that displays before the bios loads . It would not even display the bios. I tried reflashing and updating the motherboard, clearing the cmos, New power supply, New ram, the only thing that would get it to reboot it removing and reseating the CPU, but then after 10 minutes it would do the same thing. What went bad?
I am running an Asus maximus VII hero motherboard, corsair 1200w power supply, I7-4790k processor, coolermaster V8 cooler, g skill trident x f3-2133c9d-16gtx ram, dual R9 280 Gaming 3g 384 bit graphics cards, mushkin chronos ssd, Seagate barracuda st2000dm001 hard drive.
Please help me

It sounds like either a problem with your cpu or a problem with your cpu socket.

So you don't think it is the motherboard?

The socket is on the motherboard so it could still be the problem part.

Is there a way to test anything without buying new parts?
