I cant access any kind of drives connected through SATA cables even though ATA drives are working fine . The problem was occurred out of nowhere when I tried to switch on the computer . The problem was observed when the bios weren't loading any drives. Yes, no drives at all even CD drives . It would be so thankful if someone could help me out ... Hopefully :)

Sounds like your sata controller might be turned off. Can you tell me the model of motherboard you are using and the ports that you have cables plugged in to? They should be labelled on the motherboard as Sata_0, Sata_1, etc. It would also help to know which device are plugged into which ports.

Thanks For the Reply,
I am currently using GIGABYTE GA-G31M-ES2C Motherboard . Hard drive- Sata_0 , & Cd drive- Sata_1 . Righ now I was able to use the Cd drive by unplugging the hard drive . But hard drive wasnt working unplugging the cd drive . Again, it wasnt working when plugged together .

But later I was able to hear the sound of hard drive spinning when power cables were connected though it wasnt still detected . So, do it can be still a problem of power supply ? Because the sound i heard must a sign of good supply of power . Is there any other cause for its being not detected ? I would be glad if u could answer

It's sounding like the sata controller finally let go as it's doubtful all the other components failed at once. Sorry we couldn't get it up and running again.
