Discussion: Microsoft is no longer supporting Windows 8

If for some reason you're still on standard Windows 8, I've got some bad news for you.

Microsoft has ended support for Windows 8 as of Jan 12th. They are saying that because Windows 8.1 one added new features it was treated like another release of Windows, but they're modifying their view to treat it more like a service pack. Support for Windows 8.1 will last until 2023.

Are you sure they are not just cutting off normal support? Windows 7 will lose regular support but will still receive critical updates and patches.

I hate to agree with them but if you are on Windows 8 and refuse to go to 8.1, I feel bad for you.
