Hello, I have some issues regarding the sound my pc makes..

The computers default sound on start up is a mixture of fan and some kind of tethering noise.

But when playing games or rendering it makes some kind of screeching noise. Its loud enough to affect the experience but not as loud as a hair dryer or something.
The noise comes from the CPU.

Specsl
i7-4790
8gb ram
Palit GTX960 2gb
Toshiba 1TB HDD
FSP Hexacore plus PSU

No custom cooling or anything

I wonder if there is anything wrong with the system or its just normal.

If you have software that can give you control to adjust fan speeds, CPU, GPU, case fans, you could try to reduce their speeds to see if it could be a bearing in one of the fans.

I'm not familiar with the Palit vendor, perhaps a shoddy squirrel-cage on the gpu?

The hard drive could be adding to the noise as well.

To me that would sound like system fans whirring at higher than average rpm and the hard drive scratching away at the platters.

You should try running a benchmark like heaven in loop. Open the side of the case. Take a piece of paper and roll it up into a tube, place one end on your ear and aim the other end at various PC parts. This should help you isolate where the noise is coming from.

still downloading the benchmark but in the mean time, i did ur method but instead of the benchmark i ran Shadow of Mordor. The loud noise came from the GPU but its more of fans spinning rigorously i also notice a tethering noise from the HDD. I had issues with the nldr is missing but that was resolved when i rearranged the wires and made sure everything was tight.
