I am looking for something that will give me at least 3g speed for tethering at home. Maybe something that has a 4g with data cap that takes me to 3g when over limit, or 3g unlimited no data cap. All I have here is satellite and the data cap and latency are horrible. I have tried to research myself, but got fed up with waiting for pages to load. Thanks in advance. Tuscumbia, Mo 65082

That's really up to your cell phone provider. I can't speak to what's available in your area, but for me and my Sprint account, tethering/hot spot service is an added cost to my typical unlimited data service. I think the last time I checked, it was an extra $29.95/month.

Thank you so much for all that info. I cannot find the unlimited plan you are talking about. I am chatting with a T-Mobile rep and she says they only have a 18gb data plan at $80/month

its not the same as tethering, you put a cell phone sim card in a hotspot with unlimited data

i found another option, this one might be better considering sprint coverage is a little better than t mobile in your area. id still buy the signal booster to have a better signal. also its unlimited data for $50 a month

Thanks ravens!! I found that as well and ordered it to try. I do have a question about it that I posted under another forum, but will quote it here as well.

"Alright, speak to me as a dummy (which I am). I have two desktops (Windows 7) with only Ethernet modems. I am currently using satellite internet with a EA 3500 router for LAN and internet for the two comps. I have ordered Karma. What will I need to connect both computers to Karma and still have my LAN? Thanks so much for your patience with dummies like me."

Ravens, you have been a lot of help thanks!! Now, with the signal booster. Will it work when the coverage is LTE roaming? Do I have to contact Sprint in order to use it? From what I have been reading about signal boosting, you have to contact the company that owns the signal for permission and roaming is not boostable because it is not "Sprints" signal. Help me understand this. Thanks again.

Sorry for the late reply, when roaming LTE it usually means using another carriers signal. I'm pretty sure sprint roams on verizon. Also, I'm pretty sure you can boost a roaming signal because its a cell signal just like any other cell signal. Yes I would contact sprint just to be safe and also Verizon

There is no "roaming charges" because your still in the us. Now if you went to Europe or Asia then you would be charged. Hopefully the hotspot is smart enough to connect to the non roaming LTE
