"Default Gateway Is Unavaliable" some time after I connect to my VPN.

Whenever I use my VPN (NordVPN if it matters), after a couple minutes my wireless adaptor stops working because the default gateway is unavailable. I can fix this by disconnecting and reconnecting my wireless adaptor. Still, I would rather this stopped happening.

Other details:
Started happening on the 10th.
The wireless adaptor is a linksys AE6000 (updated the drivers yesterday).
The internet works fine until I turn on my VPN.
I contacted NordVPN and there was nothing they could do.

Edit: Ran into a bit of a theory. I've had my vpn for about 3 hours now and it's working fine. The only change is I have my p2p client turned off. I'm not sure if this helps someone help me, but it's a bit more information.

Edit2: Okay, extremely confident that it's because of P2P. It works perfectly fine until I connect to a P2P client. Now if someone could help me fix this.

[Mod Edit: OS = Windows 7]

Edit3: Went to bed and woke up 8 hours later with my internet still working, all I did was not connect a P2P client. Pretty sure it has something to do with that. Would love some help.
