Tax time is almost upon us. In an effort to keep up with my standard tradition of being broke i decided to throw all my money at my computer. What I am looking for is a system to game, stream, record, and edit footage. Below I have listed a few parts that I would like to get. If you could help me determine what parts would be better I would love to see them.

CPU: Haswell i705820k
MOBO: Asus x99-a
CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U14S
RAM: 2x8g Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666 DDR4
GPU: MSI Geforce 980 TI

Any advice will help.

That is an incredible build. Though I am only looking for certain upgrades. I have a case, power supply, 2 storage drives and an optical drive that shouldn't need replacing. Though I am considering a new case that will fit a bigger liquid cooler. The specific parts I am looking for though are:

CPU - Motherboard - RAM - GPU - CPU Cooler

I really want a gtx 980 ti and a 5820k so I can afford to go lower on the motherboard ram and cpu cooler. I would like an h100i gtx to cool the cpu. Mostly I have no idea what Motherboard and Memory to pair with the h100i to get the most bang for my buck.

With i5-5820K, going lower on the motherboard and CPU cooler is impossible unless you just grab Cryorig H7.

H100i is more expensive than H50 if you haven't noticed. Do you even overclock?

What is your PSU? I never recommend people reuse old PSUs especially when such high end components are dealt with.

So you don't need an SSD?

I have a platinum rated AX 860i. I do over clock, but not obnoxiously. I am usually running a game my recording and my stream all on one system. I also dabble in 3d animations using premiere, after effects, and other programs like this. I have a 512g Samsung 840 pro that got a little over a year ago and a 2TB WD Black. I store most of my stuff like video recordings and the like in a storage farm.

Don't forget to reinstall Windows.

The X61 has a fairly bad reputation from What I have heard. One member on this forum has a bad pump and refuses to use it again. I recommend air cooling, likle a D15 or a phanteks cooler. COol similarly or better in some case, and are quieter.

Also, you want 4x4 gb ram otherwise you will run single channel which is SLOW. You have 8 slots, so you cant to have 4 ram sticks. Not 2.

o0o i didnt even think about that at all Bossy crap I need to relook at multi channel ram setups ;D thanks and yes I want to air cool with would be far cheaper and comparable but I have no idea which cpu cooler to pick up. I know an h100i fits and I have no idea where to even start with an air cooler.

Here is what I ended up going with. PC Part Picker I am more of a performance over asthetic/noise kind of guy so if its at least quieter then the key clicks on my keyboard i tend to like the soft hum of an active fan over dead silence anyway. Mostly because of tinnitus.

Can your case fit that graphics card in?
