Hope someone can help me out there as i'm at a total loss.

Recently cloned one of my hard drives as i thought it might be dying.( WD Green 1TB ) Used Acronis True Image WD Free Edition and cloned it to a WD Blue of the same size.
Now when i plug either of the HDD's into my pc, i get BSOD's when booting up.

I tried connecting both HDD's externally as they wont let me boot up because of the BSOD's, but win 7 does not see them in Disk Manager, but both are seen in BIOS.
The HDD i was cloning was not used for windows, storage only

What i want to do is try to get the info on the original disk, back if i can ( both would be great but 1st things 1st ).

Any ideas how i would go about doing this?

Welcome to the TH community, blu3sman!

This seems very unfortunate. I'm sorry to hear about your failed transfer. :( I'd recommend you to first test both HDDs using WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics for Windows or for DOS (in case you are unable to boot into any OS). You can find both software versions here, once you select your WD product:
http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=lwQeGa
Running the QUICK and EXTENDED tests and then viewing the SMART results will help us determine the amount of damage your WD Green drive has.
Unfortunately, if there are corrupted sectors, that would mean that there is corrupted data as well which you might have transferred to the WD Blue. This might as well explain why you are getting those BSODs...

I'd also suggest you try swapping the SATA cables that connect the HDDs and make sure that everything is properly seated. Changing the SATA ports might also help. If you have access to another computer, I'd suggest you attempt accessing the data on either one of the HDDs from there.

Keep me posted with the troubleshooting. I hope this helps you!

Thanks for your quick reply SS_WD.
ok more info. I think why the clone failed is that what i failed to realise is that my pc was set to shutdown after 30mins of inactivity (in power options), so its shutdown during the cloning process, not good. ( i have since changed this setting to never.)

As i stated, my pc will not boot if either of these drives is connected, just continuous BSODs. Not sure on the specific error code. Will reconnect one of the drives and see if i can get it.

Also i might have had the drives "connected" to the pc the wrong way round. I had the Green connected in its drive bay through Sata
and the Blue was connected in a removable drive bay, connected through Sata. ( Green source disk, Blue destination disk) is this ok?

Unfortunately i don't have another pc i can test them on. Will D/L WD DLD and give it a try

Ok this is strange. So far i have run WD DLGD on the Green in dos and it came up with zero errors, which i certainly didn't expect.

I popped the drive into the removable drive tray and tried starting windows. Still the same deal, just BSODS, however at one stage Windows did start up and recognized the drive, but only ONCE, then when i rebooted back to BSODs.

Where do i find the error code for the specific BSOD? Event Viewer? Also there has been some Minidumps left, they of use?

Now to check the Blue.

Ok some good news. It seems that your suggestion to change the Sata ports has worked. When i did that, Windows started with no BSODs and both drives were recognized in Windows.
Because the cloning procedure was interrupted, the Destination disk ( Blue) only has partial clone on it. ( smallest partition out of the two on source disk )
I think i'll cut my losses here and just use the original disk, see as how WD DLGD reported no errors on that disk.

Many thanks for your help Super. :)
