Windows 7 sees the drive as a read only file in RAW format so communication is impossible. Being that the DriveStation communicates with Windows 10 I believe my issue is with Microsoft.

Since posting this problem and doing everything I know to avoid the Windows 10 upgrade. I upgraded to Windows 10. And my communication errors with the DriveStation are over. That's right. I upgraded to Windows 10 and am writing to the DriveStation with no problem. As for the upgrade it was fairly painless other having to find the update for my sound card little has changed. My programs are still on my desktop, my favorites on my task bar. Navigation is still roughly the same. So if you're experiencing problems like mine and Windows says "your driver is up to date" even though the driver was copyrighted in 2006, it might be time to upgrade to Windows 10.
