Hi, I was playing a steam game when my computer decided to crash, it restarted and now whenever I try to open an application (any of my games, steam, chrome, Norton antivirus) I get an error: The Application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxtrace.exe tool for more detail.
When I try to launch Word or PowerPoint for example I get a slightly different error: The Operating System is not presently configured to run this application.
Everything worked just fine an hour ago until the crash.
There are some programs that work, Internet explorer or anything in the program files folder. But everything in the Program Files (x86) folder gives me this error.
Does anyone know what is going on?
