I've been running my system since 2011 with 8GB of RAM.

ASUS P8P67LE (BIOS 3703)
i7-2600
Corsair CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 XMS 8GB DDR3 RAM - PC10666, 1333MHz, 2x 4GB
Win7x64 Home Premium

I am trying to squeeze more life out of the system and tried upgrading to 16GB RAM (purchased the same RAM as I originally installed) but only 8GB is showing up (although in CPU-Z all 16GB are shown)

I tried updating BIOS to latest release but it still only recognized 8GB and the system froze a few minutes after each restart so I reverted back to previous BIOS...runs rock steady.

Anything I'm missing here?

After digging more into ASUS support I discovered that the RAM is not compatible with the MB. That is...I can have 2 modules installed at a time and they will work, but the MB will not accept 4-DIMMS. Unfortunately the "compatible RAM" list has very few "compatible" configurations that get me to 16GB with readily available products.

Thank you for your assistance!
