My PC is using an Intel E2180 2.0 GHz (2 Cores) CPU. Since I bought my PC (HP Pavillion), I don't think I ever changed my CPU. There's a sticker on my case which says Intel Core 2 Duo inside. So I've been living in the misconception that my PC houses an Intel Core 2 Duo CPU. But, recently, I've read it in my computer properties which says Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 @ 2.00GHz 2.00GHz. Also, I read somewhere that the E2180 is a Pentium Dual Core CPU and not a Core 2 Duo CPU.

So is my E2180 a Pentium Dual Core or a Core 2 Duo CPU?

Also, as far as I know (though I'm not sure), Core 2 Duo is more powerful than Pentium Dual Core. So I shouldn't really be happy if my PC has a Pentium Dual Core CPU instead of Core 2 Duo?

If my CPU is not Core 2 Duo, it's a Pentium Dual Core E2180.
