Solution geofelt Jan 15, 2016 I would stick with Intel or Samsung. They make their own components and keep the best for themselves. This is no place to go cheap. As to longevity, that is no issue, particularly with larger ssd devices. The drive will be obsolete long before it runs out of updates.

Even the 480gb models are over priced compared to Samsung. There is a new product called "optane" supposedly available in 2016 that looks promising. http://www.anandtech.com/show/9541/intel-announces-optane-storage-brand-for-3d-xpoint-products I think I would stick with Samsung evo for 1tb or larger drives.
