Hello everyone,

A friend of mine has the keyboard Element kb1000g hanzo and has the following issue: the LEDs light up, the key to change LED color works, but nothing else. He tried to hold the shift for 8 seconds, he tried to disable everything from the 'Ease of access center' (sticky keys, filter keys etc), but nothing. He also reset the keyboard through its software. Nothing worked. He has now bought a new keyboard that works like charm. Any suggestions?

Thank you all in advance.

I'd check the manual one last time and make sure there's not some step you were supposed to have taken. For instance, some battery operated devices have a plastic tab that has to be removed from between the batteries and its terminals.

I doubt that's the case, though.

If you don't find anything in the manual, it's definitely broken.

I'd first try it on another computer. That would help eliminate possibilities for the cause.

Regardless, there's basically two problems you'd have:

1. Drivers - even a bad driver shouldn't do this but it may. It sounds like your friend has software installed for the keyboard which almost definitely comes with the driver packaged with it. I doubt this is your problem.

2. Bad keyboard - this sucks but it sounds like the keyboard may just be a dud. I found no hits about this happening for others, let alone a fix.

I'd contact the manufacturer or return it where it was purchased for a replacement.
