I just bought a cooler master real power m850 psu and now i realise that i dont know how to hook it up to a 3 pin fan... I know that this thing is pretty old but is it possible to get a fan for my 6600K processor? Since i only have molex 5 pins to work with, and sata en peripheral.

This thing is pretty old isn't it?

Where did you get the term APU? Its a PSU. Those connectors are for the modular pigtails that come with the PSU, its not that old and will work fine with everything you have. You do not plug fans or whatever into the PSU, it comes with cable sets that plug into specific...
?? Usually the power supply is attached to the motherboard, and fans run off headers on the motherboard. Or folks run fan controllers in a spare bay.

I've used Molex-to-fan adapters in the past, but what did you mean a 4-pin Molex connector? Five-pin doesn't ring a bell. 4-pin is the older power standard for drives

Edit: Heh. I googled 5-pin Molex and found 4-pin molex here: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/DISTRIBUTED-BY-MCM-11W3-S6110-6IN-/83-9943 . So I'm even more confused.

There is no such thing as a molex 5 pin, they are 4 pin. As for a 3 pin fan, those little plugs are supposed to go to the motherboard Fan headers, NOT the PSU. They do sell adaptors to hook it to the PSU, but the motherboard is where it should go unless you need extra.

Thanks for your fast reply's.

Yeah it says on the box that the 5 pin molex end goes into the apu, & on the other end i got sata or peripherals...

But i havnt bought a motherboard yet, so i will buy one that has enough headers for fans.

I want to use it with a gtx 980 and a 6600K they don't need that much power so do you guys think that i can try that with this old apu? Since it's 850 watt perhaps it'll work eventhough it's old?

Thanks for ur opinions

You do not plug fans or whatever into the PSU, it comes with cable sets that plug into specific connectors, those cable sets have the ends you need either sata or 4 pin molex or 6+2 pin PCI cables, etc. The Fans plug into the motherboard or the adaptors I mentioned.

Either way its an 850w PSU more than enough for what you are getting.
