Hi there,

I have a Samsung Series 7 Chronos with Windows 10, Intel (R) Core i7-3635QM CPU @ 2.40GHz with 16.0 GB installed RAM (15.9GB usable) and a 64-bit operating system.

I bought it a couple of years ago and it was able to run most games at 60 fps at AT LEAST medium graphics settings. Years later after multiple downloads etc. the computer runs extremely poorly. In particular, I just bought Dragons Dogma - Dark Arising. I have read that the game should run on very low-spec computers. From my knowledge my computer does not have the absolute worst specs and should be able to run something like this at least on low settings.

It is a dual graphics card and when I enter device manage it says I have two display adapters: AMD Radeon HD 8800M Series, and Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000. I have tried to update these through device manager, however it says that they are fully updated. In the past I had similar unsolved troubles so these cards have been uninstalled and reinstalled (probably incorrectly).

I was wondering what I could do to find the right graphics card/computer settings and drivers to run this game in particular. Please let me know if the base specs are not good enough to run it, however it is an i7 with radeon graphics.

I really appreciate the help and if there is any more information I can provide that will help please let me know.

PS. The problem may lie in that I have the incorrect drivers installed but I don't know how to know if they're correct or not.

If you have had it for a couple years, the windows install might just be semi corrupted. Does it run slowly in normal use? Can the games you used to run at 60 still run at 60? If they don't I recommend backing up your important files and doing a fresh windows install. Just so you know. That i7 and Radeon graphics are pretty weak now.

I have recently (about 3 months ago) done a fresh windows install. It runs perfectly in normal use, never any problems outside of games. Someone else recommended a while back that sometimes games choose to use my intel graphics card rather than the radeon one which could be the problem.

I'm not sure exactly how to ensure that games are using the proper graphics card. The game is literally running at about 10 fps, I would expect at least 30.

Thank you very much for the reply though.
