Hello I am trying to debunk the potential issues as to why running PastPerfect 4.0 on a Mac OS X El Capitan through VMware Fusion 7 isn't as fast as I'd like for workflow. My Mac Specs are:

El Capitan Version: 10.11.2
Processor: 3.5GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 16GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Startup Disk Macintosh HD
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB

VMWare reads Ethernet Speed at 1.0 Gbps.

As far as connection speed goes I believe there shouldn't be an issue, but I could be wrong. If the softclient version would be better (online version) through the Mac OS then I may suggest going through with that instead. I've done some research and they say updating to VMWare Fusion 8 (the latest one I believe) would resolve any slow issues with Windows 7. However, I am unsure whether or not PastPerfect 4.0 could be the cause in itself. There is a new version of PastPerfect (5.0) and they say it's a little faster and reliable than its predecessor. I just want to know the facts before jumping into conclusions from someone that knows their way around Macs.

Solution
Have you thought of using a native Windows install, via Boot Camp, rather than a VM solution? A VM is always going to suffer, performance-wise, compared to a native install.

Alright thank you McHenryB, it appears that after a certain software update the speed has come back up to par and is now running smoothly. One of the administrators seems to have upgraded it to VMWare Fusion 8 versus 7. It seems among other forums that there is a problem with running VMWare when El Capitan is present with VMWare Fusion 7. But yes, I did suggest a native Windows install via Boot Camp, but it seems they prefer not to redo everything and potentially lose important data. I'm certain your solution would've have been the easiest, as it is a Windows Software Program.
