Recently with games like the Witcher 3, Rainbow Six Siege, and Battlefield 4 I've been getting much lower than usual FPS. I usually get at least 80 fps in Battlefield at 1440p with a few settings turned down, but now I'm usually at around 40. Same goes for the Witcher (around a 20 fps drop) and in Rainbow Six I get an constant, annoying stutter.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers twice using the AMD clean uninstall tool, but there have been no improvements. I also tried to change some settings like tesselation in the Crimson software. I get a slight boost by turning off tesselation (maybe 5 fps). Changing the resolution to 1080p and adjusting video settings don't have much of an effect either, maybe 10-20, and my FPS is still lower than before.

My GPU usage is at 100% and my CPU usage is around 70%. The temperatures are fine as well. I've seen that some people have issues with their GPU dropping to 0% usage, but mine stays above 90%.
These are my current specs:

i5 2500k
MSI R9 390x
Asus P8z77-vlk
8 gb ram
Evga 750w Gold psu
Samsung 850 Evo 250gb SSD
Windows 10

I received the card from MSI a few months ago after RMAing my old 290, so I'm not entirely sure if the card is brand new or refurbished. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Solution
Try this. Install ddu. Run it in safe mode. Once it's in safe mode select amd. then select clean and shutdown. After it finishes take the gpu out of the pci slot, check for dust, etc. Then place it back securely. Ensure all wires are plugged in etc. Reboot. Go to AMD's website and download the latest crimson driver then install.

Wow. I think disconnecting, dusting, and re-seating the GPU worked. I feel like an idiot now for not trying that first. Back up to 90 fps in BF4. Thanks so much for the suggestion.
