Reverse CPU cable, Evga G2

Hi, I have connected my Evga G2 cpu cable in reverse, ie. the 8 pin connector to my GB Z170 MX board and the 4+4 to the PSU. Why, you ask? Because this is my first build and I connected the MB end first then put everything else in before realising my mistake. I'd rather not strip everything out again, hence the question. I think there are ripple control capacitors in the cables and I dont know how/if having the cable in reverse will affect them. Please can you help?

There is no such thing as I am aware of. But I'm surprised the opposite ends even matched the headers! And that polarity was maintained.
