The PC is inferior to console when it come to network gaming.

Iv only been into PC gaming for a year. I made the switch from console cos the new gen failed to impress me at the time and my old laptop had died.
So the PC gaming thing has been a rollercoaster. Frustrating at times but also very rewarding and satisfying. Iv learnt alot thats for sure.

But now im shocked as I try to move into network gaming.
Unless something is wrong here im extremely dissapionted.
FIFA is the biggest selling sports game in the world. How can I not find someone to play football with. Its terrible. Not 1 person. On PS3 i would find someone in my area in a heart beat.

The new COD BO3. Sure I can get into a deathmatch quickly. But theres not much happening anywhere else. Domination is hard to find. Free for all I still can't find any.

Mortal Kombat has a massive following. You could probably still find an opponent on MK7 or 8 on the play station network. But on PC, with the latest in the series, MK10, do you think I can find anyone.

There are other examples but thoses are my three worst experiences with PC gaming network. Looks like im buying a PS4 after all now. I'll play my online games on it and use the PC for single player games.

Im shocked. Although the PC is superior in almost every way, online gaming has still a long way to go to catch up to console networks. And for people who would rather just play games instead of being drowed in PC cables and constant trouble shooting Id avise to stay with consoles

Solution
be aware that pc and console markets cater to different types of gamers and the games that they play are also different. what may be popular on one may be not as popular on the other. fighting, sports and generic fps and similar are more popular on console. rpg, strategy, high end fps are more popular on pc.

also, be aware that many games created for console but ported to pc may have less pc players since most people do not have the money for pc gaming so buy consoles. also, in some cases the pc and console gamers are segregated so can not play together which hurts network play.

as for complaining about as certain game mode being unpopular.. that has nothing to do with pc and more to do with preferences of the players.

there are...

Sadly for us PC'ers, there are way more people playing multiplayer games (for the most part) on consoles, for a reason you nailed, "ease of use", but also cost.

A good PC setup for gaming will cost multiple times what a new gen console will cost. This includes both Pros and Cons:
-Pros
--PC Gaming is much more powerful than console gaming, this translates into higher frame rates, resolutions, and over all, higher visual quality.
--PC Gaming is a pretty broad topic, you can play games from 1980, up to current releases if your PC can handle it (not to mention emulation and playing games designed for older consoles on the PC).
--PC's are used for far more than gaming.

-Cons
--Price (While it will be most expensive up front, you can upgrade a PC's components often for cheaper than it would cost to replace a console with the newest generation model).
--Slightly more difficult to transport (?).

Long story short, personally I have not seen a substantial shortage of online gamers playing modern PC game titles.

You do know when a console comes out, it's already 5 years BEHIND pcs, right? GASP! SURPRISE!!!!! And it continues to fall behind, while a pc can be upgraded to keep up. oops. And the networks are the same, there is no difference. it's the same internet lines. GASP! so much for your bs.

Thanks Brandon for your insightful reply.
Ok so your saying console has a bigger online community, which explains my experience with the latest COD, but that I still should be finding gamers playing modern games on PC.
Unless im missing something here thisn't the case with FIFA.
Do you play FIFA online Brandon?
Or anyone who does play FIFA online please share your experience or maybe give a suggestion as to what the problem is here.

I know all that and never denyed it but you seem to be missing the point i am making.
The online community on console is bigger than PC. Thats all Im saying.
So enough with the "gasp" because you have made no valid point to my statement.
You have only ignored the topic
Im not refeing to any of the other stuff you mentioned. Only Network multi player gaming

there are many games which are very popular on pc that have huge followings and there are games which do not or have bigger console followings. the reverse is true for console. games tend to have longer network play lives on pc and players still will play old titles. on console they are very fast lived and when a new title comes out network play can die off quicker.

so, why do people buy consoles if they are inferior in every way? they are cheap. if steamboxes get more popular and costs are low we could see a reduction of console sales. however, with cheap hardware comes lower performance. a pc is more of a multi-use tool than a console is though - besides gaming and video what else can you do on a console efficiently? not much. a computer can be used for school, work, video, research, social media, hobbies and other purposes.

i myself have played many games on pc and console and have seen huge player followings on both platforms. again, it depends on the title.

Ok so fighting and sports games arent as poular on pc. I didnt know that but its true from what iv seen.

Could have something to do with controls. Mouse and keyboard users mite find it difficult to play such games.
Maybe the persons social class. A kid whos parents can afford to buy him a gaming pc is less likley to enjoy things like sport. Where as people who get into sports like football and boxing often come from poor families.
Racing sims are definetly more popular on PC. Again could be a reflection of social class as drivers usually come from families who have a bit of cash
I don't do RPGs and strategy games but i noticed they are alot more popular on pc.

Im still shocked and dissapointed that i can't find a player on FIFA but.
I put a thread up titled FIFA 16 MULTIPLAYER. Not one response.

I spoke of the game modes in COD to highlight two things.
Firstly, on console a game on domination or free for all can be found.
Seconly, that I can actually play a game online with my computer.
It wasn't really a complaint
