Hi everyone, I am looking for a CPU cooler to replace my stock intel cooler. The stock cooler is very noisy, so I am looking for something cheap that can do the job and at the same time being quite. The CPU that I am using is Core i5 6500, my motherboard is ASRock H170 Fal1ty, case is InWin 503, and I am using G.Skill ripjaws V. I am not overclocking (can’t anyway :p) , so I don’t think I need anything extreme.

Currently I am considering the following:
Coolermaster Hyper T4 - $33
Coolermaster Hyper 103 - $33
Deepcool Gammaxx 300 - $24
Deepcool Gammaxx 400 - $33

I have heard that Coolermaster 212 is good, but it is selling at $55 at where I live. Hyper T4 seems to be a close match to 212, so I am leaning toward T4. However, I am not sure about the noise level of these cooler. Gammaxx 300 seems to quite quiet from review and on paper (not to mentioned that it is also the cheapest)

So my question is, which one is the best fit for my situation.

Many thanks in advance.

I would go with the 300. It is inexpensive, good enough, and quiet. your case has clearance for upto 160 mm coolers and gammax 300 is 144 mm so i do not see any issue there.

400 is available for the same price at the moment, and it cools better than the other three, but is about as noisy as the Cooler Masters, so 300 is quietest, 400 cools best and they cost the same.

For a stock i5 I'd go with the 300 for the quietness.

Thanks Manish Tewari. So I guess Coolermaster is out of the question then. How about Deepcool Gammaxx S40?? It is selling at $29 at where I live. I noticed that the overall width of S40 is 81.3mm, would this interference with my RAM???

120mm fan which accompanies S40 heatsink spins at 1600-900RPM and moves up to 55CFM of air according to manufacturer specs. At full speed S40 is really very quiet, producing about 47.2 dBA. After dialing back fan speed the heatsink is positively silent; output is just 37.7 dBA

It is good VFM, fitment should not be the issue, as it is smaller in size to other two siblings.

Thanks again for your reply Manish Tewari. I bought the Gammaxx 300 today. I did some calculation based on the diagram on Deepcool website. I think the S40 is a bit over 50mm from heat sink centre line to the edge of the fan. From what I found on the internet, I think the intel mount is only 48mm from centre line to edge. It will probably fit without problem on my motherboard (with perhaps the fan just touching the heat spread of the ram on the closest slot), but I decided to be more flexible for future, so I decided to go with 300, allowing a bigger variation on RAM choices :D

Thanks again for the suggestion, the Gammaxx 300 is very quiet comparing to the intel stock cooler, I barely hear it.
