Hi,

I am currently trying to build a NAS and I now have all the parts but when I assemble the system does not start.

I have put the PSU in another machine and everything was working fine so I have eliminated that as the cause.

I was reading about bread boarding and I reckon this is the route for me to go down for finding the faulty piece of hardware. However, I am not quite sure how to do this and was wondering if someone could post a good link or post the procedure for me to follow.

Thanks

OK after lots of time and effort I am starting to think the problem may be the motherboard, CPU or both and wonder if someone could help me tell for certain.

As things stand I have removed the motherboard from the case. The CPU and heatsink have been put in the motherboard and the CPU fan connected to the 4 pin connection on the mobo. I have connected the PSU to the mobo (24 pin and 4 pin) and plugged in speakers to the mobo.

When I switch the PSU nothing is happening. Should the PSU fan not switch on if the PSU is working?

All help appreciated. Thanks
