Hi guys, so another question - Im planning a gaming PC, but wondering - would a i7-6700K in combination with Sapphire Radeon R9 390 Tri-X OC be a gaming overkill or future-proof for next 4-5years for 1080p? no rendering or video editing..

Please consider I dont want to upgrade next few years, so will the i7 HT be future-proof in terms of Direct X 12 coming? (I understand, that i5-6600 would be enough for todays gaming..)

In my opinion is easier and less expensive to change a graphic card in a few years or maybe add a second R9 crossfire then changing the mobo+CPU

Whats your opinion?
Thanks in advance for your time

6700k would be the best but not necessary as you mentioned, but for all around computing experience and future proofing the 6700k would do the job. It will easily last you for years to come. The GPU usually I get the best I can at the time and would either upgrade in a year or 2 or go SLI. However, ive been hesititant to go SLI since its a hassle and less application/game support/optimization.
