CPU Running 90 Degrees on Relatively New Build

For the future you can use print screen on the keyboard and paste an actual screen shot into paint or your favorite image editor for saving.

When the cpu is getting THAT hot you have to ensure the fan is running and that ALL 4 mounting pins are fully though the board and locked, if not you will have poor performance. The mounting pin issue is common on the Intel stock cooler(and other coolers using the push pin mounting method) and care must be taken when installing.

Ok I dont have a bloody screwdriver atm to fit it, I ordered some paste and applied a blob in the middle, but could something like that make it run at like 90+ degrees?

Yes If the cooler is not in full contact

Too much paste will cause higher temperatures for sure.

Did the cooler not come with pre-applied paste?

Try to press is opposite corners(to keep even pressure) on the pegs to ensure they are in all the way. You should only need a screw driver to remove push pin coolers.

90c you cooler isnt sitting right
plus you have bad air flow that corsair case is made for a radator, that little cooler is not getting enough doward fresh air to cool your cpu.
the case is basicly a box with holes in it so a better choise would be a stand up cooler with some heat pipes that can get airflow form foran and back fans that come with the case rather than a "hidding " cpu cooler" tucked away blwing down on the cpu geting next to no fresh air,
i would also scrap the pre applyied thermal compound of and get some artice cooling 4 compound, becasue im sure that compound is not very efficite and
the instaltion of the cooler must be just right so reinstll it. you might even be better off with the original intel cooler as it sits higher.
there is a new test the did for cooler on THG i would pick there best out of thoes or use a h55 corsair to since you have enoght roome in the case

Hello... Yes some Models of Coolers will have heatpipes over the ram slots, and lower profile ram is needed... sometimes you rotate the Fan or cooler to a different position, sometimes you cant. Sometimes the coolers are universal fit, BUT need spacers/adaptors for different situations, too get flat tight contact with CPU.

50 is still too hot at idle. Hate to say this but the install needs revisiting. All that is needed is enough thermal compound to fill the microscopic gaps between the cooler and CPU, but most important is complete and even contact between both. You'll get there .

I'm running an Intel i7-3930K hex core with a corsair H80 cooler. Idle right now is 30.5C and full load never exceeds 60C.
