No bootable device after replacing HDD with SSD for OS & new HDD

I recently got an error message on my PC suggesting that the hard drive was on its way out, so I decided to replace it, and add an SSD for the OS.

I had been running Windows 8.1, prior to installing the SSD I upgraded to Windows 10 and created an install disc so that I could do a clean install on the SSD.

Once I'd done that, I installed the SSD and installed Windows on that. With the old HDD and the SSD I could boot on either disc, Windows 10 had activated properly, so everything seemed to be working.

I then removed the old HDD and installed the new one, but now when I try to start up, I get a message saying 'no bootable device found'.

I've tried swapping the HDDs over again and when I do, it boots fine again. But now I've put the new one in again I'm getting the same error.

I've tried going into setup and making sure the SSD is the primary boot device, but this doesn't change anything.

What am I doing wrong??

Im guessing you had the old hdd with windows on it when you installed 10 to the SSD. If so the reserved partition that contains some boot info is still located on the HDD. Removed all other drives except the SSD boot to the win 10 media and run a startup repair and hopefully it creates the reserved partition with the boot info.
