I had just started building my new PC. Everything was fine, I did a test boot and all the fans were spinning. When I powered off the motherboard with the two powers pins, there was a spark and the system shut off. My gpu fans now keep going on and off every ten seconds and i can only power off the mobo by closing the psu directly. What do you think happened? Is my processor fine?

Where did it spark? Shorting the power pins on the front panel connector won't cause a spark unless you used something that also touched other components on the motherboard. The processor probably is fine; you'll know when you test it in another motherboard.
I accidentally hit the speaker pin too while I was powering on the mobo. The spark was at the speaker pin. My motherboard is the ga-78lmt-usb3, it has anti-surge ICs. The bios doesent start up even without the gpu, but my cpu fan is spinning
