I had just started building my new PC. Everything was fine, I did a test boot and all the fans were spinning. When I powered off the motherboard with the two powers pins, there was a spark and the system shut off. My gpu fans now keep going on and off every ten seconds and i can only power off the mobo by closing the psu directly. What do you think happened? Is my processor fine?

Solution
At least it's an inexpensive motherboard and you may be able to get it replaced. I don't know what you used to short the pins, but touching the speaker pins on the front panel connector should not cause a spark.

I accidentally hit the speaker pin too while I was powering on the mobo. The spark was at the speaker pin. My motherboard is the ga-78lmt-usb3, it has anti-surge ICs. The bios doesent start up even without the gpu, but my cpu fan is spinning
