My son tells me he needs a microphone for his computer gaming. He has a headset (Turtle Beach XO7) with built-in microphone for Xbox. The headphones work with the PC, but the mic is intermittent, with lots of background noise. He has been looking for a microphone to use with the PC and has seen a Behringer C-1 with a boom arm stand, phantom power supply, pop filter, a microphone holder and an XLR to 3.5mm cable. This all adds up to about £85 with free shipping from Amazon. Is this a reasonable purchase, as I have no idea about computers.

He already has already has a pair of headphones, so he doesn't want to buy a new headset.

Honestly I use a cheap $25 mic on amazon. works great. No need to spend that much money on a mic when you're gaming. If you're producing music that's another story though.
