Motherboard asus P8z77-v LK
CPU: I3 3220 3.30
Memory: Kingston 8 Gb
Video Card: EVGA Geforce gtx 650 2 Gb

would sli be worth it with 2 of these cards or would a newer card outperform gtx 650x2?

Solution
It's usually better to go with a single more powerful card instead of 2 weaker ones. With SLI/Crossfire there are lots of compatibility issues when it comes to games, microstuttering, etc. I'd say sell your 650 and get something newer and more powerful.

First, you should verify that the card is even SLI compatible.
Second, you would always want to go with a single higher end card rather than two low-end cards in SLI.
Third, you need to make sure you have sufficient power to run an SLI configuration
Finally, your CPU would likely hinder any performance gains you would get from any graphic upgrade.

Upgrade your CPU first. Then consider a single graphics card upgrade.

the age old question and the answer remains the same. a newer single gpu is the way to go.

sli is really for people that want more power now, but cant find that in a single gpu. so they buy 2 of the best thing currently going. it is rarely used to extend the life of a gpu.
