Memory standard specification

Looking at getting this motherboard:

I was wondering what the memory standard meant. And since most of the one's mentioned have (O.C.) next to it does that mean the mobo will only run the memory if it's overclocked?

"Memory standard" just means the different frequencies the motherboard supports. And, yes, the OC refers to overclock - if you want the speeds listed you'll have to play in the BIOS to get those speeds.

+1 and keep in mind that regardless of what the mobo supports, it's the CPU (specifically the CPU's MC (memory controller) which is the true determing factor in what data rates of DRAM you can run)...What CPU are you looking at or have?
