I am trying to clean install windows 7 on my SSD, because I changed my motherboard and CPU.
This SSD already had windows but i was told i should do a clean install to be sure i don't get a whole lot of problems. Now i have a problem installing windows..
So I did as i was told and deleted the disk partition when I was asked to choose where i want to install windows, i then created a new one and got the message described in my title. I have tried to go into DISKPART and do CLEAN ALL, but that did not help anything. Any help??

Solution
Why not just start all over?

Insert Windows DVD... BOOT from DVD... go to Install Screen and select Advanced...

You will see all the disks on this screen... DELETE all partitions you see... then create a NEW PARTITION and Quick format.

Install Windows... that should work.

Format the drive and partitions when you're at the partitions menu, create a new partition and install windows on that.
Make sure all partitions on the SSD are gone before creating a new one.
Keep us updated.

I got a feeling my SSD has more partitions than it shows, it only shows 1 and that's the only one i can choose. If i delete it and make a new one, it doesn't make any difference.

Anywhere i see the ssd partitions that is not in the windows setup?

I should have reference your question about how else to view the partitions. If you have successfully remove the old installation that option no longer exists. I had a corrupt partition in a similar situation and had to resolve it that way but it was a secondary drive. There are other options if you boot using the installation disk or repair disk.

If I remember correctly... you go straight forward to the screen to where you Install Windows... You did boot from the DVD, right?
