What brand of PSU do you have? And to underclock? Just lower the bus speed, but if you do, you will see performance loss on anything connected to the PCI and PCI-E slots on the motherboard. You can also lower the multiplier. Hope that helps!

If your PSU is the problem then it is best if you don't use it at all. A PSU going out can destroy any parts that it powers. List full specs please.
