Do i really need an SSD

Solution

If it's within your budget, then by all means. I'd recommend no less than 120 GB. If it takes too much of your budget, then I'd say no. For a gaming system, I'd go with a better processor graphics card before spending a significant percentage of my budget on an SSD.

It wont be slower necessarily. depends on your pc. but an SSD in general is the most noticible upgrade you can possible do. That means this for my setup:
HDD boot; in 72 seconds
SSD boot; in around 34 seconds

True that. My PC is in general a lot slower. But for some PC's it doesn't make a HUGE difference. Like putting in a ssd in like a PC with a Pentium III wont do much good.

I still rely on mechanical drives, but I use SSDs to my advantage. They're not bad for quick read/write... but I have lost a lot of data with their failing also. The overall price is lowering so it will become mostly mainstream as non-volatile memory. Just try it as it is cheaper now. You will see the pros and cons.

I mainly just use small capacity SSDs for OS installs now. Super fast boot.
