Possible CPU defect or something is off.

I recently built a PC from some of used parts and got a brand new motherboard and CPU (FX-6300) It is running 60 C on idle which is rather weird because my side panel is open, I have 1 intake fan and the stock cooler with pre-applied thermal paste. Is there a chance that the CPU has a defect? My friend who has used this build a ton never had this issue.

Solution
Could be defect as 60 C is rather hot just for idle. Are you sure your cooler is seated properly? Maybe it's not seated fully on one side. If not then I'd say the chip is defect. Try putting fresh thermal paste on and reseating the cooler, if this doesn't work then RMA the chip.
