I am wanting to upgrade my PC in the near future to help my cousin out. This is my current PC Specs that I bought 5-6 months ago - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/dTYtP6. I am wanting to get a new Mobo and a new CPU so he can use the ones I have now. I am wanting to upgrade because I would like to overclock and also to be able to have an SLI compatible motherboard. This was my first build at age 16, so I didn't really look into it to see if that was possible. I love my first build, dont get me wrong, but I would like a PC that I can have SLI. Take in mind that I make YouTube videos quite frequently and that I game frequently too, so I would need a CPU that can do both of those well. I am going to soon be getting a triple monitor setup, so I was wanting SLI for that specific reason. I would rather have 2 Graphics Cards for 3 screens. My current GTX 970 has 3 different ports, but I don't want three monitors running on one. I MAY ALSO HAVE to buy a new Power supply, something I could give him for cheap as well. Anyways, give me your concerns and 2 cents worth. Thanks!

First, a warning that you are getting into the area of diminishing returns, money spent doesn't guarantee a significant improvement in performance.

For overclocking to a level above the 1231 so you will want an Intel CPU, AMD doesn't make it at this level. Maybe someday soon.

I believe your best option here is to go with the Haswell-e i7 5820k and an X99 motherboard. This will handle the multiple GPU well and give you some decent overclocking headroom. The PSU and the memory will have to go though, they won't cut it. Below is my suggested build where I tried to salvage the components from current build, 6 months old is not that old. The extra video card is included just to show that it will work. I also bumped up the CPU cooler...

I also bumped up the CPU cooler to the NZXT Kraken X61 since you are now getting into the area of extreme demand (hey, you didn't give me a budget :ange:).
