Hello to all expers.
My question is about SSDs TLC technology which is cheaper than MLC and SLC and also have small life span. what about the speed and life span of TLC SSD drives VS standard HDDs because i read on internet that SSDs are much faster than HDDs. So I am planning to buy SSD for my computer but i am confused that i should buy a TLC SSD or not in place of HDD ?

any help would be appreciated.

Solution
1. assuming the exact same use hard drive will last longer. I still have a functioning 2.11 GB hard drive that was one of my first computers.
2 an m2 ssd can handle over 1500Mbps, standard ssd's 550 , hard drive 150
3 Crucial has never let me down.

yes absolutely you should get an SSD for your o/s & programs. Samsung 850 evo is a great drive & its TLC.
If you want longer life span & reliability go for the MLC 850 pro. however the 850 non pro will last for many years, even with heavy writes.

just about any ssd will beat a hard drive in terms of speed. the longevity of the hdd can vary greatly. usually @1 million hours between failure for HDD's.
TLC memory is denser (one cell three bits), than MLC, and MLC is denser (one cell two bits) than SLC (one cell one bit). SLC has the fastest write times and the longest longevity but the lowest density. meaning it would take three SLC cells to hold the same data in 1 TLC cell. TLC is cheaper/shorter life because of this density. SLC is more expensive because of its low density, but the low density means that as the cells wear and die, you only lose 1 bit per failing cell vs three bits per cell on TLC.

There are tradeoffs with everything, but the newer SSD'd have some good wearleveling and overprovisioning that can replace bad cells with spares.

my preference is to use an SSD as a cache for the HDD. If the SSD fails all the data is still on the hard drive. (google fancycache)

Sorry R_1 & fredfinks.

May be mistakenly i was unable to clarify my question.
1- For standard user which one will live long SSD (TLC) or HDD 7200 rpm (in Years please). ( Standard usage = Downloading & watching Movies Audios, Downloading & installing Apps etc.)
2- How much is the speed difference between SSD (TLC) VS HDD 7200 rpm.
3- Which one is the best reliable company for SSDs. KINGSTON, SanDisk, Transcend, Crucial.

Solution
1. Both will last years for the average user. It is impossible to tell which would last longer.
2. The speed difference is HUGE. There is absolutely no comparison. Any time you are reading from or writing to the drive, the SSD will win by a large margin.
4. Out of those four, Crucial. But you forgot Samsung and other brand names. I'd say Samsung is top, then Crucial second.

You were clear enough, is just that nobody can give you precise numbers. Even we left brain people here can't be as precise as you wish it to be.

Repeating what others have already said and even less precise:

SSD (all makes) beat ANY HD in performance by several factors, undisputed, the Pope is indeed catholic.
SSD longevity, just because is solid state should equal or outperform HD. The only worry about SSD is, if you are running a database 24x7 and are constantly writing deleting and re-writing to it. This would not the standard use as you stated so it doesn't apply to you.

As long as you can afford it, don't overthink it dude.
