Crossfire Furys Issues

Recently got a second R9 Fury for my rig, but I'm noticing major tearing and blackouts in several games, including Black Ops 3, GTA V and Far Cry 4. Installed all the latest drivers and have tried changing every setting in the book, including turning Freesync off and limiting my refresh rate to 60hz. One thing to note is that I had to put them in the 8x/4x slots as I accidentally ordered the wrong size watercooling crossfire terminal. Would this impact performance? Or has crossfire still got major issues?

Thanks in advance!

crossfire/sli will likely never be perfect. the slower slots could possibly be causing issues, but i would think more along the lines of it not liking using the wrong pci-e slots rather than bottlenecking.

have you tried changing which card your monitor is hooked to and/or which slot which one is in? yeah i know thats a lot of work with watercooling setups, but who knows. but thats a lot of work. lets try some other things first.

try limiting your fps to 59hz. sometimes right at 60 can be troublesome.

are you using a multiple monitor setup? try disabling that if so.

i would also make sure any global settings in catalyst/crimson/whatever they call their suite now are disabled so only the games settings take effect.

lastly i would test if it still happens when you disable crissfire and use just one of the cards.

the more i look at it, the less i like the idea of having them in odd slots. im assuming you're saying they're not in the top 2 possible slots given their sizes?
