When I first plugged my power chord 6x multiple SCHUKO it gave my house a shortcircuit.
After 3 weeks working my PC got problems when playing games.
It froze or restarted randomly.
Once the whole PC would refuse to boot up, no fans working, just case lights.

I unplugged cable from the GPU and used integrated graphics while GPU still in the mobo but unused (fans working).
I put the PC to sleep and it woke up.
powercfg -lastwake said it was the PCI-E waking it up.
I unplugged the GPU and everything was working fine on integrated graphics.
I RMA the GPU and got a new one.
PC still freezes or reboots, restarts instead of shutting off.

I put the GPU out and I am now waiting for a new PSU because I thought the first shortcircuit could have damaged it.
Yesterday I realized my PC wakes up when lights of my room are turned on of off.
Today I understood that only happens when keyboard is plugged. It will not even let the pc turn off but it will cause a restart just after the switch off.

Now, what should I do?
What is/are the problem/s?

Tomorrow I will get a new PSU.
Do I need a surge protector? (Will it isolate the PC from other devices such as bulbs?)

Please help me I am confused and spent my money on a machine that is not working as it should.

PSU 450W XFX Pro Series
GPU Zotac 750 GTX ti
CPU i5 4460
MOBO H81M-HD3 Gigabyte

Hi, bit late to respond but you might want to check these -

1) Make sure your house has proper grounding

2) Make sure you are plugging your PSU cable with a grounded outlet only

3) Make sure you are using 3 prong PSU plug (Like this http://powercordmaker.com/Clkj_Images/upfile/Bigpic/3_Prong_Australia_AC_Power_Cord.jpg)

If your PSU comes with a 2 prong plug then buy a new 3 prong smps cable.

I recently had the same problem as yours but not that serious as giving the house a short circuit.

I have had these problems -

A. My case was giving me electric shocks when powered on
B. My motherboard would sometimes automatically turn on
C. When I turn my lights off or on it would cause a automated turn on of motherboard.
D. I checked...

C. When I turn my lights off or on it would cause a automated turn on of motherboard.
D. I checked and saw that my PSU came with a 2 prong power cable (http://s18.postimg.org/re7g5mokp/IMG_20160206_041556.jpg)
E. Lastly my house has ground problems where a live wire seems on loose so there is a small amount of current flowing through the both negative and neutral lines all the time.

I bought a 3 prong smps power cable and it no longer gives me shocks.

To answer your question NO a surge protector won't isolate your pc from light bulbs. It's purpose is to protect your connected devices from electrical surges. It may have short circuit protection if it is equipped with a circuit breaker.

Also please let me know if the new PSU solved the problem or not.
