Hey guys,

I'm considering updating my rip off gaming pc I purchased from Harvey Norman numerous months ago.

(yes I tried to get a refund etc) just biting the bullet and upgrading.

PC current specs are

AMD a10 7700k 3.4ghz/3.8ghz
16GB DDR3
2TB hdd
128 SSD
GTX 750 2gb
400w 80psu

I'm looking at getting the below upgrades

Intel core i7
GTX 970
600 watt power supply

As I said I'm open to all suggestions

This isn't an upgrade anymore.

New CPU/motherboard/GPU/PSU = a whole new PC.
All you are keeping is the case, RAM (maybe), and the drives.

For gaming, don't NEED an i7. Obviously you would need a new motherboard as well. Maybe an i5 6600, GTX970 and a good tier 1/2 600w psu is all you need here. Certainly reuse the SDD if it is a good one and works fine. You will need to get some DDR4 RAM if you go Skylake route.
