This is my system:

CPU: I7 3820

MoBo: Biostar TPower X79

PSU: Sparkle 600W

RAM: G skill DDR3 16GB

Hard Drives: 2 Western Digitals and a Samsung SSD

GPU: GTX 660 Ti

I just got a GTX 980 Ti, so I went and took out the 660 Ti, and plugged in the 980 Ti. After trying to boot I got a d6 MoBo error code (no VGA detected). I wasn't seeing anything on screen. After reading some forums I tried clearing Cmos. I now can see the boot screens with the mobo logo. It boots all the way to the Windows icon and then flashes blue. I then get a Windows failed to start, launch startup repair screen. Startup repair can't fix the problem, but tells me that it's a bad driver. I didn't install the GTX 980 Ti drivers before trying to install the GTX 980 Ti. I then switched back to the 660 Ti to get it to boot to install/delete drivers, but now it won't even boot with my old 660 Ti, and does the same error stuff as when trying to boot with the GTX 980 Ti. Sometimes it will load to a MoBo screen and tell me that Cmos failed, which I don't really know what that means. It also won't even boot into Safe Mode.

Please help.

Solution
Maybe a power supply issue, but that could have caused other damage. The 660 drivers should be working fine for the 980.

Install your original card, unplug the system, reset the BIOS with the motherboard switch or pull the battery for 10 second, make sure everything is seated properly including all power cables to the video card and motherboard, re-seat RAM, try again.

If it boots on the 660, do a BIOS update and check again. Your power supply may be an issue also, what is the exactly model? You may want to get a known good unit from this list http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2547993/psu-tier-list.html in Tier 1 or 2. Sparkle may have some decent power supplies but it likely varies model to model and I would stick to known...
