Hey guys, about 2 months ago I built a gaming rig with a evga ssc gtx 970. I'm getting awesome performance but i want to crank up the settings even more and make use of that 144 hz monitor that i have. I'm faced with 2 options.

option 1: buy another gtx 970 right now for $350 and get kickass performance but have to deal with the drawbacks that come with SLI

option 2: wait till the new gpus come out and buy a 980 ti equivalent for around $650 (almost twice as much) but get all the goodies of the new gpus and won't have to deal with some of the hassle of SLI

I have a 750 watt power supply so i got plenty of power to go with either option.

system specs are as follows. If you need extra information

case- corsair obsidian 450d
case fans- 4 corsair af140mm and 1 af120mm
motherboard- Asus Z170-A
RAM- 16 gb corsair vengeance DDR4 2400mhz
CPU- intel core i5 6600k
CPU Cooler- cooler master hyper 212 evo
SSD- samsung 850 pro 512 gbs
GPU- EVGA gtx 970 scc
PSU- corsair rm750x

Monitor- Acer xb240h 1080x1920

Thanks in advance guys!

I would personally either get a gtx 980 ti right away (and sell my current gtx 970) or just wait for the new gpus. No point going sli 970 at this point in time.
