I have an older GEN1 i7 Processor and Motherboard with 8 SATA ports on it.
I currently have all 8 ports in use.
I am upgrading my MOBO and Processor but the new board only has 6 ports. SO I am 2 short. I really want to put like 6 more hard drives in this PC as it will just be a giant media server with tons of content of video, music and movies. So I need a good PCI-E SATA card with at least 6 ports. I am not running raid so JBOD support is fine. But I want something Fast. I am using WD Black Drives and RED Drives and they are all 7200 or faster so I want the fastest SATA support possible.
What do you all recommend. I want to keep the card under $100 is possible. I see 8 port card for $200 or so. I might be inclined to spend $150 if the card is a super star.
