If you can try the 390 and look how it works, I'd go ahead. If it doesnt perform properly (go with some heavy games or benchs to be sure), THE 970 will do the trick : )

I got a FX4300+ R9 290 running on a 550W PSU, although it was a tier 1. Everything was perfect, so I'd give it a try : )
