Hello, I'm trying to build a CAD workstation for myself, I need it to be able to handle Inventor and Autocad maybe some basic gaming. I don't need it to be fancy since I use my laptop for most of my other work. I also would like to make it relatively small and good looking. Pereferrably under 1k.
From what I know, since CAD is mostly a single thread task, Having a faster CPU might be better so I'm looking at overclocking as an option.
Here is what I got so far,

I really loved this case and would prefer to use it in the build so thats probably the only place I cant cut costs, I aslo happen to have 10-12 HHDs that I can use so I don't need to buy any.

Appreciate any help!

Hyper 212 Evo
Best cooler for the price .
Case
I know you don't want to cut costs but the nzxt s340 or nzxt h440 is the best quality and has tons of features .
Video Card
Your paying $139 for that crappy card ? The gtx 750 ti is way better . Although the zotac gtx 760 reference edition is the same price . I'd would get the gtx 760 as it will run most games at least 1080 medium 60+ fps

Gtx760 has 3x the Cuda cores of the k620. For some apps this will mean a huge difference in ability and precision. Looking into gaming gpus can usually benefit workstations over smaller, office dedicated gpus. I'd be looking at a gtx960 personally, for the price it's worth the investment.

While Dell does make some good monitors, for $200 I'd be looking more at Asus or BenQ 27" not a Dell 23.6

Its not that that gpu is a better deal, gaming gpus are not exactly optimzed for CAD applications, they work nicely with video editing but for CAD the redundancy of its drivers and the extra gpu ram are important. one more thing is tat they are not reccomendend to be used with Autocad and Inventor
