Overclocked my CPU a little and after 15-20 min I lost my sound and videos couldn't play? Coincidence?

I'm not really a smart guy when it comes to stuff like this, but I got myself a new CPU - i5 6600k and I overclocked it to only 4100 today on my ASUS VIII Ranger. Everything went smooth, I tried some stresstest programs (I got no idea how I see if my CPU did well or not, the CPU temp didn't even go over 40 celcius after 15 min of RealBench)

But like 15-20 min after this, I was about to join a call on skype and watching some youtube aswell, when I joined the call I had no sound, the youtube video didn't play, it was stuck at 0 seconds. I had sound and everything in a previous call on skype, so I don't understand what happened.

I restarded my PC and went into BIOS and put my OC down to 3900 (Just in case that was the problem), then everything was like normal.

Am I just being kinda paranoid here or can it be the OC that messed it up?
