Hi everyone, i'm having a little problem here (not sure wether it is one or not).
I have a i5 4690k with an h60 cooler on top of it but i find it to be running pretty hot. It's not overclocked yet and i don't feel like i will be able to do so because it already gets to about 75°c at only 3.5ghz when testing it with prime 95. I think this is to hot, but i'm not sure. Someone who has some ideas?
Many thanks!

Solution
Your Temps are not bad but not great either.
I would like to know:

1) Stock Vcore while stressing
2) Ambient temperature while stressing
3) PC case and fans setup

Dependent upon your ambient temperatures, that feels high - my i7-4790K runs at around 24C idle under a Noctua NH-U12S with an ambient of ~18C - I'd have expected you to get similar (or better) results. Otherwise, it's time to check the cold-plate is attached correctly & thermal paste is OK, etc.

Okay, so i apllied new thermal paste and the resulst are in. Idle temp is defenitely a lot lower. Around 25-32°c. Temps under load are still not where they should be tho. Around 65-70°c, they're not even overclocked yet (which i really want to do, but can't)
Had a go with overclocking too, to see how that affected my CPU temps. And at 4,1ghz and 1,060vcore i was hitting around 75°c.
This just seems to high imo.
Anyone got some ideas?

Hey man, thanks for the reply. I eventually got it fixed. I had to put some washers between the backplate and the mobo because it was to lose and the block was not pressing down hard enough on the cpu itself. Temps are now very good with and overclock of 4.8ghz at 1.27v :)
