My mobo has started kicking a fuss ever since I switched from 2 ram sticks to 4 sticks. I recently got a matching pair of cors veng 2133mhz 1.5V ram with same latencies. Upon installation the board kicked up qcode 55, but a cmos reset sorted that out.
Today after delidding my 4670k, the mobo refused to take ram in the first two slots. At the moment i have stuck a pair of sticks into slots B1 and B2, which I believe is not adviseable, do let me know if this is alright.
I have read a number of guides about this error and most are pointing at an issue with overtightening the cpu cooler, ive been using the stock cooler for the past week, so it cannot be that! There are no scratches or cracks on the pcb. I have also flashed bios again, as suggested by raja for z170 boards. Mobo pins are fine and so is the underside of the cpu.
Pc seems to work fine with sticks in B slots, although I have not tried xmp profiles yet.
Can you please advise what I can do? Is this RMA/bin? What is the long term impact of using B1 B2 slots together?
Im in such a bad shape after I finally got all parts to my fully custom looped rog pc...
