I currently keep my monitor (Asus AL1914) plugged into my Motherboard (VGA), but I recently bought a VGA (F) to DVI-I (M) converter to plug my monitor into my graphics card (Sapphire Radeon R9 270X). But when I plug my monitor into my graphics card and turn my computer on, it says no signal and goes to sleep. Anyone help?

I still got 'no signal' once I plugged it into the DVI-I port. Is there anything else I can do?

I ran with a converter like that for quite a while on an old monitor. Sounds like maybe there is something you need to switch if it is used to running from the motherboard instead of from the gpu? Does your system see the gpu?

How do I check if my computer can see my GPU?

What is the motherboard? I fell in love with an amd toxic card years back and thought my motherboard could run amd and nvidia. I was wrong. Had to return the amd toxic cards and get the 560 ti's I still have instead.

Update: I have come to believe that my current monitor can only accept analog signals, so the VGA to DVI-I adapter won't help. I found a good monitor for cheap on eBay that supports VGA and DVI, so I'll see if that works.
