Hello, yesterday i got the new wireless adapter card in the mail, so i installed it with no issues. my gpu fan went insanely loud and i shut off my pc, after a few restarts it wasnt loud anymore but it didnt detect my gpu, i reseated it, no luck, i took out my wifi adapter, no luck, put the wifi adapter back in and it worked? i played witcher 3 for about 2 hours straight that night with no problems, the next morning i got on and played for about 1 to 2 hours when i decided to take a break and saw there was a new update, i installed the update and after 15-30 minutes of play time my monitor lost signal, i restarted, went into witcher 3, and played for a total of 3 minutes before my screen stopped getting signal. i restarted and decided to just play some garys mod, i played for about 30 minutes with 0 issues thought it was just some wierd phase glitch and went into witcher 3, loaded a save, and monitor got no signal, restarted again and looked up somestuff about acx 2.0 not cooling the gpu properly so i played around with the settings, took the fan speed down to 0% (what it was at before) and waited for it to go through so i could see what temps i would get. i was browsing the internet while waiting and bam right in my face blank monitor, so i did what i did before turned off pc, restarted it, this time it did that same god d*mn roaring i had been testing the fans for about 30 minutes and heard 100% speed before and this was definently that. turned it off for a bit back on roaring i waited about 15 minutes then turned it back on again and windows said preparing automatic repair it said my pc had not started correctly, so i restarted it and i got to the start page i went into precision x and put my gpu fan speed to 50% exited out of precision x and tried to relaunch it( i turned up the target temp if that means anything just from 80 to 85) and the monitor went black and roaring from my gpu again i shut down my pc and im not going to mess with it (if i dont get a quick reply i might) for a while

Things i have tried
changing my sata+hdmi setup to just hdmi
plugging my hdmi into mobo (didnt even send out any singal even as i restarted my pc with it in)

Things i have not tried
turning down my clock speeds i have a 970 sc acx2.0
switching pce slots (really dont want to do this one)

thing i will not try
i cant get a refund for my gpu becuase my grandma bought it for me as an xmas present
rma’ing it, look above
switching out gpus, i dont have another one

please help any replys will be helpful and appreciated

Solution
First try switching slots
Secondly try using your onboard graphics with the gpu out .
Thirdly see if the manufactor warranty is still good . I would send it in . It doesn't matter if your grandma bought it for you . It's not working , just tell her and I'm sure she will help with the problem by returning it . Or sending it in to the manufactor

Your GPU might be ok, it could be your PSU (Didn't mention the model) since it didn't happen when running Garry's mod and it did running The Witcher 3, do you have a spare PSU or can you ask for one to a friend?
Also, does you house have regular voltage drops? Maybe your PSU just can't handle the drop and turns off.

house has never had a history of power drops also i hear audio through my headphones even when my monitor says no signal so i know my psu hasnt shut off
psu model supernova nex650g i only use like 300w max so im not sure if having so much extra power is doing anything

i just though of something my wireless card is quite big and might have been damaging/damged my gpu i will see if it touched it or not and move it to see if that fixes anything
update: DAMN! its not touching and the only other pcie slot is seriously right under my gpu, even though its not touching it might be blocking airflow/ being close enough to mess with the heat in certain areas (why my sensors dont say its getting high) now that think of it i logged into a website (interent intensive activity) and it stopped working i hope this is the issue and my card isnt shot another thing is my ping went up mid gmod (my wireless card rubbing off on my gpu) and the only reason i ran witcher for so long is that it was offline and after i got off and updated it (another internet intensive thing it stopped working after a few minutes) another thing is i downloaded percission x and played with fans (keeping it cool) and after i put it down to 0 and started using the internet it stopped working ill take out the card, put in my old one, hopefully get it to work without uninstalling drivers and see if i can run some games wish me luck
