GPU for gaming/video editing

Hey everyone just looking for suggestions on a GPU for my first build. Will mainly be using it for video editing and gaming. Specs:

CPU: Intel i7 4790k
MOBO: Gigabyte-z97mx-gaming 5
RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB (2 x 4GB)
STORAGE: Kingston SSD V300 120GB & Seagate Barracuda 1TB
CASE: Cooler Master N200 microATX
POWER SUPPLY: EVGA 500W 80+ Bronze

Also any suggestions on a monitor would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, your editing software also affects the answer. For lightweight editors, you shouldn't need much. But for stuff like Adobe After Effects and Premiere, you probably would need better parts than what you would use on lightweight editors.
